Description
A daily food supplement to help you find a better sleep. Made with botanicals Lemon Balm, Lavender & Hops. This formula also provides vitamins and minerals to maintain psychological and nervous function, regulate hormone activity and blood glucose levels, in addition to mental performance and stress management which will help you relax and unwind in order to get a great night’s sleep.
The Manuka honey is sourced from our very own Manuka Doctor hives nestled in the luscious green mountains of New Zealand. The honey is freeze dried into powder form and added to our formula which is lovingly made in the UK to the very highest standard. The MGO (methylglyoxal) level in Manuka Honey is derived from DHA (dihydroxyacetone) which is naturally present in the nectar of the Manuka Bush.

Why it works
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a frequently used sleeping remedy for the elderly (lutoMSki, 2000). A 15-day pilot study showed that in a stressed group, Lemon balm leaf extract reduced anxiety and insomnia related to anxiety. In another study it was found that Lemon balm extract significantly reduced the time of falling asleep and extended sleep time. It was also shown that the mixture with lavender extract (Lavandula angustifolia) had a synergistic effect in terms of length of falling asleep and the sleep itself, which may be important in the treatment of insomnia (hajhaSheMi and Safaei, 2015). [1]
A separate study into the extract of stems and flowers of Lavender produced significant sedative effect compared to diazepam. [2]
There is strong evidence that Hops (Humulus lupuls L.) have been used safely for over 30 years to relieve mental stress and to aid sleep and so have been approved by the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC) on their ‘traditional use’. [3]
Vitamin B6 plays an important role in the synthesis of amino acid GABA, tryptophan, and serotonin all of which impact sleep. [4] GABA is produced naturally in the brain. When levels of GABA increase, it suppresses the central nervous system to reduce excitability and, when bound, produces a calming effect that may support a reduction in stress anxiety, and sleeplessness. [5,6] Tryptophan is an amino acid that plays a role in the production of serotonin, the “happy hormone” that helps stabilize our mood. For this reason, vitamin B6 deficiencies have been linked to irritability, emotional disturbances, and disrupted sleep. [7,8]
There is some evidence to support B12 as a regulator of the sleep-wake cycle due to its role in modulating production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, and keeping the circadian rhythms in sync. [9] The vitamin helps increase the production of melatonin during the night-time hours, as well as release it earlier, making it easier to fall and stay asleep. A study published in Neuropsychopharmacology looked at the effects of methyl- and cyanocobalamin on circadian rhythms, well-being, alertness, and concentration in healthy volunteers [10]. They found that methyl B12 (methylcobalamin) was more effective for improving daytime alertness and concentration and shortened and improved sleep patterns in healthy volunteers.
